Part-Time Permanent HousekeeperCrowsnest Consolidated High School, ColemanLivingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for a Part-Time Permanent Housekeeper (4 hours per day) at Crowsnest Consolidated High School located in Coleman, AB. The shift starts after 3:30 pm; Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours in evenings or on weekends.The applicant must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co-workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site. Typical duties of a Housekeeper include but are not limited to:Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting washrooms, fixtures, and partitionsCleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting furniture, counters, doors, and other surfacesDusting and cleaning windows and window coveringsOperating and maintaining custodial equipmentSweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and maintaining floorsLocking doors and windows and securing of Division buildingsGarbage collection and nightly removalPreventative maintenance – tightening furniture or changing light bulbsSnow and ice removal from doorways if neededHousekeeping work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, and climbing stairs/ladders. The daily work routine involves the use of various cleaning chemicals.This position will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator or designate, the School Head Custodian as well as the School Principal. The ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.RequirementsMandatory QualificationsA High School Diploma or equivalentAdditional Qualifications, Knowledge, and SkillsDemonstrated initiative and good judgementAbility to build positive relations with staff that values a team environmentCapable of working alone and with minimum supervisionOrganize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions requireCapable of performing routine and repetitive tasks dailyDisplay a good working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staff Fitness and AbilitiesAble to stand or walk for extended periodsAble to lift and carry up to 22 kg independentlyAble to work in a highly active physical environmentAble to work with a variety of chemicalsConditions of EmploymentA satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.This is a Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2133 position; therefore, seniority applies.
