Responsibilities
Reporting to the Legal Director, some of the key responsibilities of the Lawyer are :
- Conduct of assigned files to professional standards and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Legal Aid Saskatchewan & the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
- Conduct preliminary inquiries, pre-trials, case conferences, trials, reviews & appeals.
- Negotiate competent resolutions of files to achieve fair, early and lasting outcomes for clients.
- Represent clients at bail hearings, guilty pleas and remands both in-person and remotely.
- Work independently on cases as assigned by the Legal Director.
- Complete and accurate time entry and record keeping.
