COMPANY PROFILE
Our client, an industry leading Canadian distributor, is partnering with Charles Warren, of Lock Search Group, on a confidential search mandate to acquire a Vice President of Operations . This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day distribution and logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and continuous improvement, as part of the executive leadership team reporting to the President.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is seeking an experienced executive to lead nationwide operational functions that are integral to their success. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple distribution centers / branches, 3PL service providers, logistics / fleet management, and health and safety programs to ensure efficiency, service excellence, and profitable growth. Reporting to senior leadership, the individual will drive strategic initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness, optimize processes, and strengthen overall performance. This is an onsite position, based East of the Greater Toronto Area, that will require approximately 30% travel to markets across Canada.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service standards.
- Lead and support regional leadership teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering operational consistency.
- Manage logistics and transportation functions, focusing on cost control, route optimization, and service reliability.
- Establish and maintain a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and proactive risk management.
- Oversee resource planning, forecasting, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Enhance supply chain operations through scalable and cost-efficient solutions that support long-term growth.
- Promote environmentally responsible initiatives, such as waste reduction and energy-efficient practices.
- Build and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-evolving business environment.
