About the role
As the Manager of Return to Work , you will take on a leadership role in driving the Return to Work services for injured workers and employers across the public and private sectors in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will oversee the operational effectiveness of the Return to Work team, ensuring that they meet the service and performance goals set by WCB Nova Scotia.
On a day-to-day basis, you will lead and inspire a team of professionals, guiding them to provide excellent service and continuous improvement. Working closely with the Director and other Return to Work Managers, you will ensure the alignment of goals with the organization’s strategic objectives and contribute to the development of a workplace culture focused on safety and return-to-work outcomes.
You will play a key role in influencing and advancing workplace safety and return-to-work practices, ensuring that the team delivers optimal service and supports the creation of a safety-first culture. This role also requires strong leadership skills, including human resource management responsibilities like performance management, coaching, and employee development.
About You
You are an experienced leader with a strong background in business, social sciences, health disciplines, or a related field. Your experience leans toward strategic leadership, project management, and team leadership. You are quick, detail-oriented, and excel at building interdepartmental and cross-functional partnerships. You understand the dynamics of a multi-stakeholder environment and are adept at managing and leading teams to drive results.
What we’re looking for
- A University degree in Business, Social Sciences, Health discipline, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in a senior decision-making capacity, with at least three (3) of those years involving intensive leadership / management experience.
- Experience in building inter and cross-departmental partnerships, negotiation, project management, strategic leadership, and leading teams.
- Completion of sector-recognized professional programs in strategic leadership / management.
