Learn more at hexagon.com and follow us @HexagonAB.Purpose of Position : We are seeking a Senior UX Designer with a passion for crafting intuitive software products for the mining industry. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the design of complex systems used in mining operations, collaborating with a global team across Perth, Tucson, and Florianopolis. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our design system based on Atomic principles, while ensuring seamless integration with front-end development teams. • Lead the end-to-end design of software products tailored for the mining industry, ensuring usability, functionality, and scalability.
• Maintain and evolve our design system based on Atomic Design principles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and usability.
• Conduct user research, develop user personas, and perform usability testing to inform design decisions and ensure products meet user needs.
• Create low and high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive Figma prototypes to guide development teams and communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, present designs, and refine them based on feedback.
• Work closely with front-end developers to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
• Contribute to the team’s overall success by leading design workshops and advocating for user-centered design across the company.Knowledge and Experience - Required :
• 5+ years of experience designing software products, with a focus on complex, industrial systems.
• Mastery of Figma for designing prototypes, mockups, and managing design systems.
• Experience in user research, usability testing, and articulating findings to stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and run design projects with minimal oversight.
• Available for domestic travel to mine sites 2-3 times per year and international travel 1-2 times per year.Knowledge and Experience - Desired :
• Knowledge of Atomic Design principles and experience maintaining design systems.
• Familiarity with front-end development processes, including a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with Photoshop for advanced graphic work and image manipulation.
• Previous experience designing for industries like mining, logistics, or other heavy industries is a plus.Travel : This role requires international travel (1-2 times per year) and domestic travel to mine sites (2-3 times per year).
