Reporting to the Director, Facilities, the Manager, Campus Planning and Developmentwill participate in the planning, implementation and future renewal of the College’s strategic Campus Master Plans in alignment with the College’s initiatives to continually enhance responsive learning environments and develop relevant and innovative programs. The Manager will be responsible for strengthening and implementing major capital project governance, policies and procedures and project managing new capital construction. This leader will also manage new capital investment budgets and oversee the work of external contractors and collaborate with key leaders internal to Douglas College on assigned projects.
Of note, the new Manager will play a critical project management role in the College’s new $292 million expansion at 808 Royal Avenue, at their main campus in New Westminster. The new 20-storey mixed student housing and academic building will add 368 student beds and 11 storeys of academic space to the college. It is the largest campus expansion in the history of the College and the first-time student housing has been included. 808 Royal has broken ground and is estimated to take 3-4 years to complete.
As the ideal candidate, you bring significant experience in major capital planning and project management in an institutional setting. This experience may have been gained in a public sector environment. Ideally, you possess aBachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management and a professional designation in a related field, or a combination of education and experience. You demonstrate strong leadership and integrity with honest, open, and consistent approaches to working with peers, employees, and staff across the College.
The salary range for this position is as follows : Minimum - $99,050, Control Point - $132,066, Maximum - $145,273. Placement within a salary band is typically up to the Control Point based on a review of skills, experience and internal equity. The College may place over the Control Point in limited circumstances.
