York Region District School BoardBritish Columbia, CanadaTRUCK DRIVER / GROUNDSKEEPER The Burnaby School District is recruiting for a TEMPORARY Truck Driver / Groundskeeper. The Truck Driver / Groundskeeper drives district vehicles to pick up and deliver mail, supplies, materials and equipment. When not performing pick-up and delivery duties, the Truck Driver / Groundskeeper performs a variety of manual tasks in the maintenance of district grounds and facilities and operates a variety of grounds equipment and vehicles.Required Qualifications & Experience : Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of training and / or experience in truck driving and groundskeeping. Experience driving a full-size cargo van, a 3-ton or 5-ton truck is required. Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5). Sound knowledge of vehicles, equipment, materials and methods used in transportation and groundskeeping work. Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in transportation and groundskeeping work in a safe and efficient manner. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures related to work performed. We are looking for a self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative appropriate to the position is also required.This position is a full-time (40-hours / week) position complete with a wage of $31.37 / hour and a benefits package including dental and extended health benefits.All applications with relevant documentation (a cover letter, detailed resume, and driving abstract ) can be made through Make a Future (www.makeafuture.ca / burnaby) or by emailing applications@burnabyschools.ca.
