Position Overview :
Reporting to the Director, Operations the Supervisor of Repair and Overhaul is responsible for the leadership of a growing team of our workers, focused on performing repair and overhaul work on aircraft parts and assemblies. As an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) your knowledge will be invaluable as we develop the experience and capabilities of the MRO business within the IMP Aerostructures business portfolio. The Supervisor is responsible for knowing Transport Canada approved (TCA) processes and procedures, ensuring that the work performed complies with repair manual requirements and in accordance with our AS9100 quality organization.
What You Will Do :
- Performs airworthiness function of Maintenance / Manufacturer Release Authority as Shop Certification Authority (SCA).
- Attends trade training and development sessions for qualifications / authorization purposes.
- Develop and Maintain the Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM).
- Be the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) with airworthiness improvements and Transport Canada Compliance.
- Motivate, manage and lead a group of employees by communicating and providing the information necessary to meet departmental performance and quality objectives.
- Working with the Senior leadership team, develop strategies and plans for future product development.
- Liaise with all departments, work collaboratively to identify and resolve problems and / or supervise teams that work in operations and product development.
- Coach and monitor to ensure adherence to process and procedure
- Assist in the development of in-house training and seek out external training opportunities to improve the capabilities of the workforce while improving engagement.
- Demonstrate a high sense of urgency and meet commitments in a timely manner and escalate issues by establishing clear directions, set stretch targets and plan work in an organized manner.
- Thoroughly investigate the root cause of defects and / or process failures, provide solutions and implement lasting corrective actions.
- Provide mentorship and constructive feedback on performance and quality, educating and correcting as necessary.
- Take a leadership role in promoting, maintaining and demonstrating a personal commitment to IMP's Occupational, Health, Safety & Environmental practices, objectives and full compliance with all Nova Scotia Provincial Health and Safety Legislation.
