Translator (ENG - FR)

Our client in the mining industry is seeking two skilled English-to-French Translators to play a key role in the Workday Program. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse content, from technical documents to training materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with Quebec’s Bill 96. The role requires adaptability, as you will be collaborating with a globally dispersed team and reporting to a supervisor based in Mongolia. As a result, candidates must be flexible with working hours. If you are an experienced translator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for language, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact.

What is in it for you :

  • Salaried : 30 to $35 per hour.
  • Incorporated Business Rate : 37 to $41 per hour.
  • 7-month contract.
  • Full-time position : 37.50 hours per week.

Responsibilities :

  • Translate documents, videos, job aids, and training materials from English to French (Canadian and International) with accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure proper phraseology, terminology, grammar, punctuation, and structure in translated content.
  • Maintain consistency with client-specific terminology and reference materials.
  • Proofread, review, and revise translations to improve accuracy and readability.
  • Conduct research to ensure correct terminology and specialized knowledge for technical translations.
  • Provide consecutive interpretation services in English and Mongolian when necessary.
  • Support quality assessments of translations and format content appropriately using MS Office and translation tools.
  • Adhere to confidentiality standards, ethical codes, and project deadlines.

    • What you will need to succeed :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, French, or linguistics.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in English-to-French translation.
  • Bilingual in English and French to ensure accurate, high-quality translations and alignment with Quebec’s Bill 96 requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of English and French grammar and stylistics.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialized terminology in fields such as law, business, finance, environment, engineering, and mining.
  • Proficiency in translation-oriented applications, software, and machine translation tools.
  • Strong research skills to ensure accurate and precise translations.
  • Ability to manage complex information, handle heavy workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to acquire new knowledge.
