Job Summary
We are hiring Machine Operators in Barrie production facility in the manufacturing and machining sector. This role supports the production of specialized wire brush products used by local airports for snow and ice removal on runways, where quality, precision, and safety are critical.
This is a strong opportunity for candidates with at least 1 year of machine operating or general production experience who enjoy hands-on work, detailed processes, and working as part of a reliable production team. The environment offers on-the-job training, supportive team leads, and the potential for extension or permanent placement for strong performers. Candidates will train alongside an experienced trainer before operating equipment more independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust production machinery, including winding equipment, according to specifications and safety procedures.
- Manually load, position, and secure wire around dies for compression and production processing.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure consistency, safety, and product standards are met.
- Complete finishing, balancing, and packaging tasks to prepare products for shipment.
- Identify and report machine issues, quality concerns, or production delays to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain accurate production records and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $21 to $23 per hour.
- Salary range equivalent: $41,600 to $47,840 per year.
- Job type: temporary.
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 5:45 p.m. to 4:15 a.m.
- Overtime may be available on Fridays.
- Positions are expected to run until approximately March 31, with potential for extension and possible permanent opportunities for strong performers.
- No shift premium.
- On-the-job training provided for approximately 1 to 2 weeks.
