SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 43 (COQUITLAM) Invites applications for the positionof : Learning Inclusion Support Worker - Casual Coquitlam School District invites applicationsfor casual Learning Inclusion Support Workers. As the third largest schooldistrict in the province we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtownVancouver. The school district has a population of 32,000 students withapproximately 4,300 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff. Working under the Manager of EducationAssistants, or designate, Learning Inclusion Support Workers providesupervision and assistance to students with diverse needs who are categorizedas mild to moderate based on their individual assessments. Duties :

• Assistseducation assistants and teachers with individual and / or group supportinvolving multiple students within classroom settings or related facilitieswith life skills, curriculum, and academics
• Encouragesstudents’ participation in classroom activities and assist students’ with dallygoals such as classroom tasks and assignments
• Modifiesmaterial / instructions for students as directed by a teacher
• Facilitatesand encourages positive social interaction with students, staff and the community
• Facilitatesindependence in students with regards to basic life skills
• Escortsstudents to and from bus or taxi while on school property and arranges desks andwork areas to provide ease of access
• Supportsstudents while on school property and during school wide fieldtrips RequiredKnowledge and Skills :
• Grade 12 plus one year ofpost-secondary education in a relevant field such as; Early Childhood Education, Therapeutic Recreational,Residential Care Attendant, Social Service Worker, Youth Worker, HealthcareWorker or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s licensemay be required. This is a unionized position whichoffers $28.33 an hour plus 16% in lieu of benefits.
