We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our sourcing efforts and manage supplier relationships within the food industry. The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategies that drive cost efficiency, ensure quality, and foster long-term partnerships while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and support business growth. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts and maintain the terms of the company, analyze market trends, collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize inventory management and meet business objectives, understand border regulations and logistics, reduce costs by understanding supply chain processes and overall impact, negotiate return policies, proper departmental reporting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals. Manage supplier contracts to secure cost reductions and maintain high quality, establishing long-term partnerships across Canada.
- Oversee the entire procurement process—including purchase order creation, reporting, vendor management, and cost control—ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Monitor monthly supplier performance and analyze market trends, pricing, and demand for raw materials and packaging to mitigate risks and drive informed purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with the Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient inventory management, accurate purchasing decisions, and adherence to group procurement standards.
- Develop budgets through accurate cost estimations and control expenses by implementing effective procurement practices that optimize cash flow.
- Lead the procurement team by setting clear objectives, driving best practices, and integrating new technologies to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
