Senior Manager, Clinical Supply Chain

Apex Systems is a large staffing and consulting firm and we are looking for a Senior Manager, Clinical Supply Chain with a background in Supply Chain in the Biotech or Pharma industries, exposure to Late-Stage Clinical Trials for inventory and logistics planning, and strong knowledge of GMP / GDP compliance to place at our Biopharma client.

Client :  Innovative Biopharma client

Contract / Perm & duration :   12-month contract (potential for extension)

Location :  Downtown Toronto

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Clinical Supply to lead and execute clinical supply chain activities across multiple workstreams. This role will focus on ensuring supply readiness for cell therapy clinical trials, including operational execution, risk mitigation, and cross-functional leadership.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in clinical supply chain management, including logistics, inventory planning, IRT integration, and GMP / GDP compliance. This individual must be proactive, detail-oriented, a strong communicator and capable of working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Drive execution of clinical supply activities for cell therapy trials, ensuring materials and product are available on time for manufacturing and patient dosing
  • Ensure effective implementation within designated workstreams, facilitating seamless clinical supply planning and distribution.
  • Support supply planning for drug product, materials, and medical devices ensuring effective distribution throughout the clinical supply chain
  • Support and oversee the IRT system from a clinical supply perspective, ensuring robust consistent and reliable flow of medication / placebos to clinical sites
  • Drives logistical setup activities by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders (, depots, couriers, CMOs) to ensure seamless execution
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks that may impact clinical trial execution.
  • Develop KPI’s and meaningful dashboards for clinical supply operations
  • Author documents, reports and procedures
  • Lead cross-functional teams involving Manufacturing, Tech Ops Operations, External Partners, QA, and Clinical Operations.
  • Ensure alignment on supply timelines, technical requirements, and regulatory considerations.
  • Provide detailed updates to technical teams, leadership, and functional leads.
  • Ensure all clinical supply activities adhere to GMP, GDP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvements to streamline supply operations.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to optimize supply chain processes.

Key Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of experience in clinical supply chain, logistics, or related field within the biotech / pharma industry.
  • Experience leading clinical supply for late stage global clinical trials
  • Strong expertise in clinical trial supply planning, import / export distribution, and IRT integration.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Leadership capabilities to guide and support junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture within the supply team.
  • Experience in cell therapy, biologics, or advanced therapies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GMP / GDP compliance, regulatory requirements, and supply chain best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
