Position Summary

The Assembleris responsible forthe assembly and fabrication of finished productsin accordance withmanufacturing standards. This role also provides operational support across multiple departments and performsadditionaltasks as directed by the Team Leador ProductionSupervisor.

RolesandResponsibilities

  • Assemble and fabricate sheet metal components according to schematics,drawingsand work instructions under the direction of a Team Leador Supervisor.

  • Safelyoperatesmall hand and power tools, including but not limited to wrenches,drillsand grinders.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper workingconditionand promptly report any defects or malfunctions to Supervision.

  • Perform workin accordance withquality standards, workinstructionsand inspection requirements to ensure products meet specifications.

  • Conduct basic visual inspections of parts and assemblies and report defects, discrepancies or quality concerns to theappropriateTeamLead orSupervisor.

  • Supportcross‑trainingefforts by learningadditionaltasks or stations to provide coverage during absences orhigh‑volumeperiods.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to maintainsteadyworkflow and meet production schedules.

  • Support andcomply withcompany inventory control andmaterial-handlingprocedures.

  • Load and unload incoming materials and finished products to support production and shipping activities.

  • Assisttradespeople, Team LeadsandSupervisors asrequiredto ensure project timelines are met, while adhering to safety standards and the 5S workplace organization program.

Roles and Responsibilities Continued

  • Communicate regularly with the Team LeadorSupervisor to receive assignments and confirm job priorities.

  • Learn and adapt to new projects,tasksand responsibilities as production needschange.

  • Participate in training and become familiar with new tools,equipmentand processes as introduced.

  • Meet established production targets whilemaintainingquality and safety standards.

  • Maintain a clean,safeand organized work area, with particular attention to end-of-shift housekeeping.

  • Identifyand report any unsafe conditions, practices or procedures to the Team LeadorSupervisor.

  • Move materials using forklifts or overhead cranes when trained and authorized.

  • Perform all dutiesin accordance withSilent-Aire safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.

  • Other duties may be assignedasdeemednecessary.

Knowledge,SkillsandAbilities

  • Ability tooperaterequired equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, assemblytechniquesand fabrication methods.

  • Knowledge ofappropriate materials,methodsandthe toolsrequiredin various assembly processes.

  • Understanding ofworkplace health and safety requirements, including hazard identification, safe workpracticesand use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, schematics, workinstructionsand assembly documentation.

  • Basic knowledge of quality standards, inspectionrequirementsand defect identification.

  • Awareness of inventory control, materialhandlingand housekeeping practices (i.e., 5SProgram).

  • Understanding of company policies,proceduresand expectations in asafety‑sensitiveenvironment.

  • Ability to assemble components accurately while following detailed instructions and tolerances.

  • Ability to adapt to new tasks, tools, equipment,processesand production requirements.

  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions or practices and takeappropriate action, including stopping work and reporting concerns to supervision.

  • Must be able to read a tape measure and perform simple mathematical fractional equations.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical training in manufacturing or fabrication is considered an asset.

  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification is an asset or willingness to obtain certification, ifrequired.

  • Ability to read blueprints is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Required to work in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, varyingtemperaturesand other production‑relatedhazards.

  • Required to useappropriatepersonalprotective equipment(PPE)to prevent exposure to hazardous materialsand excessive noise levels in the workplace.

  • Must have the physicalability to lift and carry materials weighing up to35lbs.

  • Must have theability to stand for extended periodsthroughout each shift.

  • Manual dexterityisrequiredto effectivelyoperatetools and equipment.

  • Overtime may be available occasionally with work volume.
