About Red Chris Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Purpose Red Chris Mining has an opportunity for a safety-oriented, self-motivated Mine Engineer Co-op Student (Technical Services Open Pit). Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer (Short-Range), the Co-op Student will provide support in a variety of engineering activities. This is an 8-month fixed-term contract with an annual salary range of 66,000-72,000 depending on relevant skills, experience and qualifications. Essential Duties Actual engineering duties are subject to change based on Company needs, but can span the following disciplines and their respective tasks : Drill & Blast : Patter design, QA / QC, and reconciliation, etc. Geotechnical Engineering : Routine inspections, instrumentation monitoring, etc. Mine Engineering : Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including drafting, data entry, volumetric and variance analysis, etc. Surveying : Design field layout and picks-ups, drone operation, data analysis, etc. Assuming other duties and responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstance and the economic and physical environment of the Company Training & Experience Active enrolment in Co-op a Bachelor of Science (or similar) BSc Engineering program Prior experience in mine planning and field operations will be considered an asset At Newmont, our commitment to diversity and inclusion ensures that everyone can work to their full potential, free from discrimination, while respecting the cultures, religions, and governance of the regions in which we operate.
