About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for ensuring person-centered care is provided to patients and families. As an experienced practitioner, the Clinical Nurse Leader provides day to day operational leadership to the staff in the provision of collaborative patient care. The Clinical Nurse Leader is the principal contact and liaison with the inter-professional team and the Health Services Manager. The Clinical Nurse Leader acts as a resource for all disciplines involved in the delivery of care.
The Clinical Nurse Leader plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient coordination of clinical operations and patient flow, as well as, determining optimal staffing and nurse-patient assignments to meet patient care needs. The Nurse Leader must be able to provide clinical leadership and interact in an effective manner with members of the inter-professional team in order to achieve the above mandate, as well as enhance a positive team approach and atmosphere on the unit. The Clinical Nurse Leader practices according to the Canadian Nurses Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Health (NSH) Policies and Procedures.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Bachelor of Nursing or demonstrated equivalencies
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
- 3 - 5 years RN experience required
- Preceptor course an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced Clinical Judgement
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Leadership training and / or workshops would be considered an asset
- Knowledge and skills in conflict resolution
- Knowledge of adult education approaches and strategies
- Working knowledge of quality improvement processes
- Proficient computer skills and adaptable to new technology
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

45.93 - $54.97 Hourly
50.90 with 25 years' RN experience)
