JOB SUMMARY
The Transportation Policy and Networks Branch leads projects and initiatives to advance transportation data collection, analysis, and modelling in the National Capital Region; and also provides overall management and secretariat support for the regional transportation systems planning committee, the “TRANS Committee”. In the Data Analyst role, you conduct transportation data analysis and develop analytical solutions to improve our understanding of regional transportation network performance and to plan future services and infrastructure. This includes data integration, analytics, and visualizations of transportation datasets, developing technical reports, and preparing presentations for internal and external clients.
You also assist with maintaining and updating the TRANS regional travel demand model; applying the regional travel demand model to assess the transportation impacts of various land use, infrastructure, and policy scenarios; and assist with multi-agency transportation data collection and modelling initiatives.
You work with staff from all TRANS partner agencies to analyze transportation and land use datasets; conduct research; develop communication products; support project management; and assist with other TRANS Committee activities as required. French language skills would be an asset in this role but are not required.
