INTERNAL COMPETITION (LLRIB Staff Only) The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Finance and Administration Department is accepting applications to fill the following Full-Time term position based out of Hall Lake, SK : Community Recreation Coordinator The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties :

  • Develop a year-round schedule of sports, recreational, and cultural programs for children, youth, adults, and seniors within the community.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily, weekly, and monthly activities in alignment with the annual recreation plan.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of any community drop-in centers, recreational halls, or outdoor facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness, upkeep, and safety standards of each facility, ensuring postings of operational schedules and rules.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with local and provincial sport, recreation, and cultural organizations (e.g., NRCC, Sagastew, PAGC, etc.).
  • Advertise programs and events through local media, social media platforms, community bulletins, and other appropriate channels.
  • Coordinate transportation, lodging, and related logistical support for out-of-town activities when necessary.
  • Identify and apply for potential grants, sponsorships, or additional funding sources to enhance or expand programming.
  • Submit all required reports to funding bodies (e.g., NRCC) in a timely manner and in accordance with grant or funding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local businesses, non-profits, and other community groups to secure sponsorships, donations, or collaborative programming opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications :

  • 2-year Diploma in Recreation and Community Development, Recreation and Sports Management, Sports Administration or similar;
  • 1-2 years experience in the Sports and Recreation field is preferred;
  • Coaching certificate is an asset;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required;
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Program planning experience;
  • Strong organizational & time management skills;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and public relations skills;
  • Good budgeting and financial management skills;
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively;
  • Valid First Aid / CPR Certificate;
  • Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Must have a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
