Our Civil Engineering team is growing, and we are looking for you. Our team is comprised of highly skilled civil hydrologic, structural, and geotechnical engineers, consulting to the world’s largest stakeholders for solar, wind, and battery storage energy projects. We are seeking a Principal Civil / Hydrologic Engineer who is ready to grow and develop while supporting our US and Canadian team.

The engineer in this position will be exposed to the broadest cross-section of solar, storage and wind projects of any renewables company in the world supporting a wide breath of civil engineering projects by providing civil, owners and independent engineering consulting services for the renewable industry. Our team is charged with ensuring civil works of solar, infrastructure and wind are consistent with current standards and prepared to operate well into the future of the renewable energy industry. We help Customers mitigate risk and act as a keystone in helping some of the largest, most technically complex renewable energy projects develop successfully.

This position will be based out of any of our DNV offices across Canada.

What You’ll Do

• Mentoring of team members and providing or developing training material for new services
• Multi-disciplinary collaboration for Independent Engineering, Owner’s Engineering, and Merger & Acquisition services
• Support the preliminary designs of solar and wind Projects (up to approximately 30% design); from siting to preliminary design, to EPC bid handling
• Review civil design drawings and studies for solar and wind energy project’s civil infrastructure, to support project financing or owner due diligence processes
• Evaluate root cause analyses from flooding and erosion of solar and wind energy projects
• Observation and documentation of solar and wind energy project construction
• Evaluate innovative design concepts for solar and wind energy project site design
• Support business development activities, through engaging in authentic, expertise-driven discussions with DNV’s 25+ key accounts and over 100+ renewable energy customers in North America. Work to collaboratively identify opportunities across multiple renewable energy types to offer value-added services to customers
• Construction monitoring site visits, construction QA / QC documentation review
• Proposal preparation for civil work scope for wind and solar services
• Project management of small to large projects
• Work with a geographically diverse team, within North America and internationally
• Prioritize QHSSE considerations within the team to ensure safe execution and healthy work environment

L'ingénieur occupant ce poste sera exposé à la plus large gamme de projets solaires, de stockage et éoliens de toutes les entreprises d'énergie renouvelable au monde, soutenant un large éventail de projets de génie civil en fournissant des services de génie civil, de propriétaires et d'ingénierie indépendants pour l'industrie des énergies renouvelables. Notre équipe est chargée de veiller à ce que les travaux de génie civil de l'énergie solaire, de l'infrastructure et de l'énergie éolienne soient conformes aux normes actuelles et prêts à fonctionner à l'avenir de l'industrie des énergies renouvelables. Nous aidons nos clients à atténuer les risques et agissons comme une clé de voûte pour aider certains des projets d'énergie renouvelable les plus importants et les plus complexes sur le plan technique à se développer avec succès.
