The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, clients, and field teams to maintain productivity, resolve site issues, and keep projects progressing according to schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate site crews, subcontractors, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Plan daily and short-term construction activities to maintain productivity and project schedules.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure construction activities meet project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential construction, quality, and safety issues.
  • Implement and maintain site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Identify hazards and take corrective action where required.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to resolve field issues.
  • Track project progress and communicate updates, constraints, and potential delays to the project team.
  • Assist with monitoring labour, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, reports, daily records, and project updates.
  • Support project scheduling, coordination, and overall cost control.
  • Maintain an organized, productive, and professional job site.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to field personnel while promoting a positive site culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve construction methods, productivity, and overall project execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of construction experience, with significant experience in civil construction and field leadership.
  • Proven experience as a Civil Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or similar senior field leadership position.
  • Strong background in underground utilities and roadworks.
  • Experience supervising crews and coordinating subcontractors on active construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, equipment, and sequencing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, hazard identification, and site safety requirements.
  • Experience monitoring project schedules, productivity, resources, and costs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple site priorities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • Comfortable using construction management software and standard computer applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Technical diploma, trade certification, degree in construction management/civil engineering, or equivalent practical construction experience is considered an asset.

What Our Client Offers

  • Opportunity to take ownership of field operations across active civil projects.
  • Collaborative environment with direct interaction across project management and field teams.
  • Opportunity for long-term career growth within a growing organization.
