About the Position
Reporting to the Marketing Account Manager, Festival & Live Entertainment, the Social Media Engagement Specialist will play a crucial role in the Explore Edmonton Global Marketing Team and various business units by spearheading the social media execution for the Community Initiatives & Agriculture and Venues portfolios. This pivotal role provides support to the Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre, as well as owned events and initiatives such as KDays, CFR, and Farmfair International. As a go-to resource for social media expertise within the organization, the Social Media Engagement Specialist will be accountable for crafting effective consumer-facing and B2B social media strategies that maximize our online presence and engagement.
Working within a tightly knit team, and in alignment with the Social Media Engagement Specialist (Consumer), this position will also collaborate on social media asset gathering projects including planning and promotion. This position will work closely with the Marketing Account Manager, Festival & Live Entertainment, the Marketing Account Manager, Rodeo & Agriculture, and the Marketing Account Manager, Venues, to develop and execute content and social media strategies that support the priorities of those business units. This position will also be responsible for developing and executing relevant content creator strategies in support of Explore Edmonton’s venues and signature events.
As the successful candidate, your main responsibilities include :
Social Media Community Management
- Management of social media channels (CIA & Venues)
- Lead online engagement with event attendees, stakeholders, B2B audiences and the potential visitor
- Manage active listening, especially during major events, conferences, and festivals
- Collection and analysis of social media analytics, trends research and social campaign optimization
- Attend owned and attracted events for live interaction
- Lead scheduling, posting and monitoring of social media content across channels
- Lead both organic & paid social media strategies in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager and marketing Account Managers.

Please note : This position is a hybrid role, with three days per week in-office and two days per week working from home. Occasional travel and overtime may be required.
