Position Details

Risk Transfer and Insurance Program Administration
Support the administration of the institution’s insurance portfolio, including insurance coverage, waivers, informed consent documentation, and contractual risk transfer provisions. Ensure insurance arrangements appropriately address identified risks and align with institutional risk management objectives.
Risk Management Support and Advisory Services
Provide risk assessment, analysis, and advisory services to academic, research, and administrative units. Identify and document risk exposures, recommend mitigation strategies, and support the effective operation of the institution’s enterprise risk management framework.
Risk, Insurance, and Records Governance
Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive insurance and risk management records. Oversee departmental information resources, including SharePoint sites and public web content, ensuring information remains current, accessible, and compliant with institutional requirements.
Claims Management and Sensitive Case Support
Coordinate and administer insurance and liability claims, including Student Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims. Liaise with internal stakeholders, insurers, adjusters, and legal counsel while managing sensitive and litigation-related matters with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Stakeholder Engagement and Risk Program Administration
Support key administrative functions within the risk management and insurance programs, including driver authorization processes, inventory maintenance, and certificate of insurance tracking. Participate in committees and collaborate with insurers, brokers, and external partners, promoting effective communication and strong working relationships. Position Qualifications Preferred: Post Secondary Degree and Professional Certification in related industry (Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, etc). A combination or equivalency of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum: Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) (equivalents accepted)

The incumbent must be highly organized, have excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, and have experience managing a high volume of diverse activities under tight deadlines. Additionally, the incumbent must be an innovative self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, and possess the ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and logically. Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $5,214.00 - $5,904.00 monthly Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $5,214.00 - $6,593.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 11)
