FileNet team is currently in transition to NEW (Next Evolution of Work).
The characteristics of a good candidate will therefore be someone who is capable of adapting to change, has a willingness to collaborate, has great technical agility, and brings the core values of a Lean-Agile Mindset to the team.
While SAFE 5.0 or 6.0 Principles are important, the knowledge of how to help teams develop and work on their implementation opportunities in their Roadmap will help make this person successful and adapt well in their role.
Anyone who works with FileNet and the applications that support it should be versed in JAVA-based application development efforts in an IBM WebSphere environment (inclusive of IBM FileNet, IBM Content Manager / ICC, and other associated components).
As the team is adapting to new, their role may see them as the more Senior Developer in the POD for FileNet, at times overseeing and mentoring junior developers.
With that in mind, anyone working with FileNet is expected to apply the basic principles of agile software development knowing this is meant to improve and enforce current software development standards and practices.
Working in a POD will mean the developer has a role to play for the Agile team to act cohesively, to ensure they align with the FileNet Design Lead, contribute to architectural / infrastructure analysis and have the skills necessary to suggest improvement efforts to bring value to the organization.
In addition to working with the project team members (e.g., Project Manager, BSA, QE) this role will directly interact with the FileNet LOBs (application users) to ensure proper alignment between technical efforts and user needs.
Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 4 years (3 with a MS in Computer Science) experience in Java development
Minimum of 3 years experience in J2EE (e.g. EJB, JSP, hibernate / JPA, Servlets, Portlets)
Minimum of 3 years experience in FileNet (preferably 4.X or higher)
Experience with database access technologies (e.g., SQL) including DB2 and Oracle
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Experience with the SDLC (Plan, Define, Design, etc.) in order to work outside of Agile where necessary. This will help at times when capturing / translating business needs (into technical capabilities and requirements, etc.)
Desired Qualifications :
Familiarity with UML (unified modeling language)
Familiarity with software management methodologies (e.g., RUP, Agile Development-Scrum, Kanban)
Familiarity with software engineering design patterns and best practices
Familiarity with community frameworks (e.g., Spring, Struts, Hibernate)
Familiarity with software configuration management tools
Education Required :
Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline or similar life skills and acquired experience.
