Context

World Vision is one of the world’s largest INGOs, with over 33,000 staff operating in nearly 100 countries. The organization delivers humanitarian aid to populations in some of the most challenging and complex environments. The Security, Safety & Resilience (SSR) group combines the people risk and resilience functions of staff care, safety, security, organizational resilience, fleet management and employee relations / staff conduct into a single forward-looking business unit. SSR has a key focus on ensuring that people are at the center of risk and resilience practice; while also creating agile, innovative and dynamic ‘end to end’ security, safety and resilience solutions across the organization.

On an annual basis around 4,000 staff in World Vision’s global workforce are required to travel domestically or internationally to enable the organization to reach the world’s most vulnerable children. Travel is often a ‘mission critical’ activity to ensure we can quickly deploy the right resources to emerging humanitarian emergencies and ensure ongoing operations, often requiring staff to travel to high-risk dynamic locations.
