  • Business Development : Proactively engage with potential tech companies to explore their interest in establishing a presence in the province. This includes conducting outreach, facilitating introductory calls, and fostering connections with local stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with key partners, including techNL, GovNL, local tech companies, ecosystem partners, subject matter experts, leading-edge evaluation practices, sponsors, and partners, to ensure collaborative efforts in promoting the tech sector.
  • Team Leadership : Lead, motivate, and manage the conference team, including the Conference Logistics Coordinator, to ensure effective collaboration and achievement of objectives.
  • Budgets and Sponsorship : Manage the project budget and cultivate sponsorship relationships to ensure successful financial planning and partnership growth of our events.
  • Performance Measurement : Evaluate the success of conferences and business attraction strategies, utilizing data-driven insights to adapt plans and optimize outcomes.

Who You Are :

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Business / Tech Savvy : Minimum of five (5) years of experience in event management, business development, or related roles, with a focus on the technology sector.
  • Event Planning Master : Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale conferences or events.

  • Quick-Thinker : Problem-solving skills including quick thinking and creativity in resolving issues that arise during event planning and execution.
