This position reports to : Head of Department, Production and Mater

The production planner is responsible for translating customer orders and sales forecasts into a production schedule. Ensure the accuracy of planning based on the receipt of raw materials while optimizing the use of equipment and labor.

This role contributes to the Electrification, Installation Products division of ABB Canada and is based in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

The work model is 100% in-person.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop optimized production schedules for the cells under their responsibility, according to sales forecasts, customer order priorities, labor availability, and equipment availability.
  • Initiate or participate in the development of procedures to improve the production process.
  • React and integrate quickly new information provided by sales, customer service, or operations teams and adjust the production plan accordingly. Communicate daily production issues to the appropriate services.
  • Proactively identify and communicate stock shortage risks and produce relevant action plans to address the situation.
  • Manage the supply of necessary components for the production schedule. Ensure close monitoring of orders with suppliers.
  • Recommend action plans in response to supplier delays and production schedule delays.
  • Complete production reports and manage performance indicators effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning tools and processes and take the initiative to implement their ideas.

Requirements :

  • University or college degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, operations and logistics management, supply chain management, management, etc.
  • Initial experience in planning, supply, inventory management associated with a production environment.
  • Able to demonstrate the following skills : autonomy, rigor, meticulousness, and ease of decision-making.
  • Leadership, initiative, and communication skills are part of your strengths.
  • Great planning and priority management capacity to meet tight deadlines.
  • Easy adaptation to a rapidly evolving environment.
  • French is mandatory, English is functional. English is necessary to communicate with clients outside of Quebec.
