Key Responsibilities
Unload Asphalt Cement Oil from bulker to storage tanks under strict safety proceduresPerforms maintenance and service on the asphalt plant when required, including lube, fuel and grease activitiesCommunicate with outgoing asphalt truckers on queuing and positioning under siloPerform general yard and tool shed housekeepingPerform clean up under the feed bins, conveyors and transfer pointsPractice open 2-way radio communication with the asphalt plant crew to ensure plant is properly maintained and constantly monitoredAbility to perform work in varying weather conditionsAbility to work periodic night shiftBack up loader operator as requiredBack up plant loadout operator as requiredBack up recycle yard scale operator as requiredAny other duties as requiredRequired Knowledge and Experience
Minimum one year of experience in asphalt plant production and / or operations.Must have a valid driver license and own a vehicleAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properlyThe ability to understand and interpret written material, especially technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, and reports; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.Interpersonal skills with the ability to respond appropriately to the needs and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations.Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions for self and others sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures sufficient to be able to assist in developing and maintaining programs for preventive maintenance.Skill in interpreting and applying written guidelines, precedents, and work practices to standardized work situations or specific cases.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
