Our Burnaby, BC based client is seeking a AWS Developer for an 8-month contract opportunity.
AWS Developer – Guidewire Cloud Migration
Contract: 8 months | Burnaby, BC | Hybrid (Tue–Thu onsite, Mon/Fri remote) | 37.5 hrs/week
Overview: Support the migration of Guidewire applications to AWS, building cloud-native infrastructure and integrations alongside Solution Architects, DevOps, QA, and Guidewire teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure new AWS environment (networking, security, governance)
- Build Lambda functions, REST APIs (API Gateway), and event-driven solutions (EventBridge, SQS, SNS)
- Write Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform)
- Manage core AWS services (IAM, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, Secrets Manager, Systems Manager)
- Support migration of Guidewire integrations/APIs to the cloud
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; implement monitoring/alerting
- Troubleshoot issues, produce documentation, join Agile ceremonies
Required
- 5+ years development experience, 3+ years hands-on AWS
- Strong experience with Lambda, API Gateway, and core AWS services listed above
- IaC experience (CloudFormation/CDK/Terraform)
- CI/CD experience (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
- Strong coding skills (Java, Python, Node.js, or C#)
- Git + Agile experience; solid grasp of AWS networking/security
Preferred
- Guidewire (PolicyCenter/BillingCenter/ClaimCenter) or insurance cloud migration experience
- AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect – Associate
- Docker/ECS/EKS, DevSecOps practices
- Monitoring tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Grafana, Datadog)
