Salary: $78,000 - 118,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for strong production-level C++ experience, ideally with C++17, C++20, or C++23.
• We expect solid working knowledge of Qt5 or Qt6 for desktop application development.
• We require hands-on experience with CMake.
• We value familiarity with Git-based development practices and issue-tracking tools such as YouTrack.
• We require comfort using AI-assisted development tools, especially Claude Code.
• We prefer candidates who are familiar with Docker and command-line application development.
• We are looking for someone who understands octree data structures and can work with very large datasets.
• Experience with OpenCV and/or GDAL is an asset.
• A basic understanding of 3D point cloud data and formats such as LAS/LAZ and PLY is important; you should not be starting from scratch.
• Exposure to point cloud processing libraries such as PCL or OpenSceneGraph is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with integrating Python-packaged machine learning tools from C++ applications is an advantage.
• Background in geomatics, surveying software, or 3D data processing is beneficial.
• French proficiency is an asset, as we are based in Montréal and serve a bilingual user base.

Responsibilities:

• We implement new features and bug fixes in VisionLidar, our C++/Qt desktop application for 3D point cloud processing.
• We integrate algorithms and processing pipelines designed by our GeoAI team into our production C++ codebase.
• We maintain and modernize our build system with CMake and continue evolving our codebase toward Qt6 and newer C++ standards.
• We collaborate in an agile environment using YouTrack and GitHub.
• We investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in a large multi-library codebase, including issues at the interface between the application layer and algorithm or machine learning modules.
• We maintain the backend services that support VisionLidar365, our cloud-based web platform.
• We translate research specifications and prototypes into robust, production-ready code that ships.
• We work closely with experienced developers and GeoAI researchers to deliver practical solutions efficiently.

We are Geo-Plus, a Montréal-based geomatics software company focused on LiDAR point cloud processing and analysis. Our flagship product, VisionLidar, is used by infrastructure and surveying professionals across North America and Europe for tasks such as electrical utility inspection, road marking detection, volume calculation, and AI-assisted classification. We are also developing VisionLidar365, a cloud-based platform that delivers VisionLidar capabilities as services.
