The successful candidate will have to be a self-starter with a diploma or degree in civil technology, engineering, project management, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role. Candidates with their PMP designation would be considered an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project, and / or any other Project Management software would be considered an asset.
This position requires excellent verbal and written client communication skills, effective time management, strong organizational skills, identifying the ‘critical paths’ of a project, and the ability to see both the ‘big picture’ and the value in taking care of the details.
Projects will include all types of structural (primarily) and civil works (occasionally), including buildings, resource sector and highway bridges, machine bases and foundations, platforms, site development and utility services and miscellaneous municipal projects.
You will be expected to work reasonably independently, but under the guidance of the Chief Operations Officer. As well, your role will require constant collaboration with other staff members and consultants, on projects of all types.
This position includes working in a modern, well equipped consulting engineering office with the opportunity for occasional field work, including travel around beautiful central and northern British Columbia, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Saskatchewan.
At Scouten Engineering, we work hard and play hard. Our belief is that if we support our staff and encourage a healthy (and fun) lifestyle, our clients benefit as well. After work you can find us snowboarding, mountain biking, dancing, fishing, hunting, canoeing and more. Our days consist of hard work, but in an office with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Work starts and end hours are flexible.
Prince George is a wonderful place to live and work, with full cultural and social amenities in a beautiful setting. Housing is extremely affordable and commuting means a ten-to-fifteen-minute journey each way.
