Senior Program Manager to lead the implementation of business and technology focused solutions for a Life and Operations Excellence Program

This is a hybrid role in Edmonton or Calgary

Must haves:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project management with demonstrated proficiency across the full project lifecycle, with at least 5 years of program management experience and proficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead the delivery of complex business and technology solutions (e.g., business applications, infrastructure) from concept through implementation and operational transition.
  • Experience in successfully managing programs and projects in a remote and hybrid team environment, with cross-functional teams that include business, IT, and vendor resources.
  • Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, SharePoint, and Power BI is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management, engagement, oversight, and performance evaluation of third-party service providers.
  • Solid knowledge of program and project management principles, frameworks, and tools, including planning, risk management, budgeting, and reporting.

Educational Requirements:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in business, information technology, or a related discipline is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Project management certification is required (for example PMP®, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP).
  • Program management certification (for example, PgMP®) is a strong asset.
  • Certification or practical experience in Organizational Change Management (e.g., Prosci) is an asset.

Required Leadership Skills:

  • Proven leadership in building and guiding high-performing teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and trust.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and delegation skills, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and managing competing priorities.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including project teams, senior executives and external partners.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal business leaders, external partners, and vendors to support project success and alignment.
