Description
BGC Saskatoon is looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our Before and After School and Mini Club team as Program Leaders. In this role you will have an incredible opportunity to engage with diverse groups of local children and youth, forming meaningful relationships as a trusted adult in a child’s life. Program Leaders are positive role models who provide traditional recreational activities, educational enhancement programs and physical activity each day.Position DetailsThe Before and After School and/or Mini Club Program Leader typically works 15-30 hours per week providing safe, supportive, and engaging programs for school-aged children in Saskatoon and surrounding communities, including Dalmeny, Langham, Warman, and Whitecap Dakota Nation.Shifts are available on school days only and may be scheduled before school (approximately 7:15 a.m. to the first bell), after school (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), or both, depending on program needs. Start times vary by location, and all shifts are paid for a minimum of three hours. A minimum commitment of 15 hours per week (five shifts) is required, unless applying for casual work only.This flexible position is ideal for post-secondary students, stay-at-home parents, newcomers to Canada seeking experience, or youth entering the workforce. With management approval, Program Leaders may also be able to bring their own non-school-aged children to the program.Additional opportunities may include providing 1:1 support for children with exceptional needs, accepting casual shifts at various locations, and working full-time or part-time hours during the summer in our camp programs and early learning centres.What You’ll DoEvery day can look a little different in the Before and After School/Mini Club Programs; as such, program leaders need to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and youth attending. Program leaders are expected to be punctual as well as have a reliable method of transportation (city transit/vehicle) to ensure that programs open on time. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. Interested in this opportunity?
