As a Food Mixer and Process Operator in food manufacturing, your role is central to maintaining product consistency and quality. You will use your troubleshooting skills and initiative to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and production schedules are met. This is a vital position within Randstad Operational's specialization, ensuring the smooth flow of the manufacturing and logistics chain.

This position is based in Brantford, Ontario, and is not a bilingual role requiring the English language as a condition of employment, which aligns with local hiring practices.

To excel as a Food Mixer - Process Operator, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Proven technical process operating skills, ideally gained within a food manufacturing or similar environment.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment and process issues.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail for precise ingredient measurement and batch calculation.
• Excellent planning skills and organizational ability to manage multiple steps in the mixing and cooking processes.
• High degree of initiative and self-motivation to manage workload independently and identify areas for improvement.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report production status.
• Ability to operate and monitor complex food production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and the ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work area.

Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Food Mixer - Process Operator include:

• Manage and execute the accurate mixing of raw ingredients to produce product batches according to strict recipes and specifications
• Oversee the operation and monitoring of cooking machinery and equipment to ensure products are cooked precisely to the required temperature and time parameters.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and food safety regulations (HACCP, BRC, etc.).
• Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance tasks on mixing and cooking apparatus.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout the batch mixing and cooking processes, documenting results accurately.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve operational issues or deviations during the food production process swiftly.
• Maintain detailed and organized production logs, batch records, and inventory sheets.
• Proactively plan the sequence of production tasks and ingredient staging to ensure efficient flow and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the food manufacturing team, including maintenance and packaging, to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following essential requirements for this Food Mixer position:

• Must have prior experience in food mixing or batch preparation within a food manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated background as a Process Operator or similar machine operation role in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting and process control.
• Ability to stand, lift, and perform physically demanding tasks as required in a food manufacturing setting.
• Flexibility to work various shifts (e.g., mornings, afternoons, nights) as required by the food production schedule.
• Proven ability to exercise initiative and excellent planning skills to manage production workflows.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
