The Volunteer’s Role

The Project Development Advisor will assist the local partner in identifying opportunities and developing proposals in collaboration with local stakeholders and engaging with the Canadian private sector.

The volunteer will be stationed with the strategic partner to enhance their capacity to work with underserved groups, ensuring these groups are treated with dignity, able to reach their potential, and fully participate in society, all in coordination with stakeholders who can help them overcome their challenges. This position emphasizes collaboration with the Canadian private sector, making it essential for the candidate to focus on inclusive development.

This advisor will aid in recognizing opportunities for growth and securing funding for local initiatives that have social and environmental impact. The role will contribute to expanding the project portfolio and, in alignment with Cuso International's strategy, strengthening relationships with other institutional partners while aligning strategic growth opportunities with the organization's mission and thematic priorities.

Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing and building the team's capacity. Additionally, you will serve as a key advisor in service promotion strategies, as well as in communication and coordination with the corporate social responsibility sectors of Canadian companies in Cusco.

Apply today to make a difference!

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Develop strategies, pathways, and coordination channels with Canadian companies operating in the Cusco region.
  • Provide training to local stakeholders to enhance their skills and assist them in identifying value-generating business activities and opportunities.
  • Identify and participate in the creation of proposals related to local, regional, and national funding aimed at fostering the growth of rural enterprises.
  • Work closely with the Cuso International Programs team during field visits and other activities conducted under the framework of the new SHARE strategy.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the office as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in International Development, Economics, Social Sciences, Project Management, or Business Administration is required.

Essential Background:

  • Experience in business coordination, project management, and corporate social responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles within NGOs or international organizations is required.
  • Experience in social diagnostics, training, project design, and process facilitation.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to various contexts and environments, including visits to communities and companies.
  • Interest in and sensitivity toward engaging with indigenous populations.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Creative individual with sound judgment, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

What’s in it for YOU? A life-changing experience!
