Mott MacDonald Canada is seeking a Principal Tunnel Engineer to join our expanding team, contributing to high-profile infrastructural projects both locally and globally. This role involves leading engineering efforts on iconic projects, ensuring innovative and sustainable solutions. In this key role, the Principal Tunnel Engineer will be responsible for the following :

• Developing design solutions, and associated deliverables, drawing on a range of geotechnical and structural skills, including : tunnel, shaft, cavern, support of excavation, and underground structural design.
• Act as the senior member of the team to lead complex underground projects.
• Assist in the coordination of work among other engineers and design staff.
• Deliver design work packages, collaborating with external and internal stakeholders, ensuring quality control, managing inputs from team members, and travel to project sites when necessary.
• Enhance the team’s capabilities by promoting technical excellence and digital innovation.
• Support project commercial management, and proposal delivery.
• Interface with owners such as transport and water authorities and contractors for design and construction projects.
• Express the contribution of your work in the context of social outcomes.
