WHAT YOU'LL DO :

  • Shared on call responsibility for ships (Person-In-Charge duties / Load Master), and occasional on-call responsibilities for site
  • Shared delivery of morning operations meetings (daily toolbox talks)
  • Daily ethanol BOL reporting
  • Weekend railcar releases and site logistics planning
  • Assisting Operations with on-site process controls
  • Auditing and filing of rail checklists
  • Shared operations coordination (trucks, rail, ships - advise longshoremen / surveyors)
  • Advocacy and support of site safety culture (behavior observations, walkabouts, continuous improvement, PTA checks)
  • Creating and managing work permits (including lock out, hot work checks, maintenance equipment daily testing)
  • Repair & Maintenance troubleshooting
  • Focal point to track railcar securement issues and address long term solutions
  • Management of Site library including items such as equipment files and engineering drawings, digital and hardcopy
  • Assisting Operations in all aspects of site engineering / project management and maintenance
  • Administration of Univar site asset database as well as responsible for purchasing maintenance items
  • Coordination with Rail inspectors and repair recommendations (CN, PNR)
  • Support the site’s Marine Terminal Specialist with regular security rounds and auditing of associated systems
  • Responsible for site security hardware (Gates, Card readers / Cardholder access, DX8000, Cameras, Monitors, etc.)
  • Maintaining security system software issues with Security system provider
  • Security system updates (keys, on site computer access, etc…)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED :

  • Commitment to doing the right thing, and always working in an ethical manner
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, implement initiatives and leverage knowledge from internal Univar subject matter experts
  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering, or equivalent (preferably chemical or mechanical)
  • Good initiative and ability to work independently – confidence in your skills and knowledge
  • Adaptable and willing and wanting to learn – a growth mindset is key!
  • Experience with industrial site operations and a union workforce is an asset
  • Our Location :   1545 Bay Street, North Vancouver BC V7J 3M8, Canada

    Shift : 1st Shift - Tuesday to Saturday

    Pay and Benefits :

    The annual expected salary range for this position is $72,000 - 90,000 The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
