The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, and repair activities on aircraft and related systems to ensure continued airworthiness and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, including line maintenance and heavy maintenance activities
  • Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft structures, systems, and components
  • Diagnose faults and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Remove, repair, replace, and reinstall aircraft components, including:
    • engines
    • landing gear
    • flight control systems
    • hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • fuel systems
  • Perform functional and operational tests to verify system performance and compliance with specifications
  • Interpret and apply technical documentation, including:
    • aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM)
    • illustrated parts catalogs (IPC)
    • service bulletins (SB)
    • airworthiness directives (AD)
  • Complete and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with:
    • Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulations (CARs)
    • company procedures and quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety policies

Compliance & Work Standards

  • Ensure all work performed meets airworthiness standards and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support quality assurance processes and internal audits

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (line and/or heavy maintenance)
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
