Our Actuarial team is seeking an Analytics Director to join our growing team in Worcester, MA; Windsor, CT; or remotely. This is a full-time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Analytics Director role will lead the development of data solutions to drive advancements in analytics in support of our Core Commercial and Specialty businesses. These growing and profitable businesses are over $4 billion in written premium and include traditional Small Commercial and Middle Market business as well as a diverse array of Specialty offerings (e.g. Marine, Professional Liability, Management Liability). This position reports to the Chief Pricing Actuary.
The Analytics Director is a key member of the pricing leadership team, working closely with actuarial leaders across business units as well as the broader enterprise data and analytics function. The leader is responsible for the development of our new Commercial Analytics Data Mart as part of our overall data and analytics strategy.
In this effort, the Analytics Director will ensure consistency with existing systems and environments and act as a liaison with other areas as needed to effectively execute data and reporting needs. The leader provides overall management and technical oversight to their staff and is expected to take a more hands-on approach where required.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL :
- Build, lead, and manage a team of data engineers and analytics consultants, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
- Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and various systems groups to define requirements and create reporting infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and priorities.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of data engineering projects.
- Develop and implement data engineering best practices and standards.
- Drive process improvements and innovation within the Commercial Data team.
- Responsible for professional development as well as performance and compensation management for team.
