Proven experience in scaling a fermentation process Strong background in submerged (liquid) fermentation Demonstrated success in scaling bio-process technologies Manufacturing mindset with a positive attitude toward innovation and R&D. Open-minded, collaborative, and transparent with high emotional intelligence. Strong problem-solving skills with a "figure-it-out" gene. Approachable and supportive, capable of fostering a positive team culture and providing guidance.

Location : Montreal, Quebec
Position Summary :
The ideal candidate will have a background in building structured processes for R&D, engineering, and manufacturing. This role requires deep expertise in fermentation and scaling bio-process technologies. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for biomanufacturing and a track record of scaling innovative processes, we invite you to apply.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement structured processes for R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Apply business strategy and economically oriented thinking to align engineering efforts with commercial goals.
- Interact with clients and oversee product development to ensure alignment with customer needs and market demands.
- Lead and manage an engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Scale fermentation processes from approximately 1k L to 100k L+ per batch
- Oversee commercial manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth scale-up and high-quality output.
- Drive the scaling of novel bio-process technologies, leveraging extensive experience in bio-manufacturing.
- Manage or work with contract manufacturers for chemicals and oversee the building of manufacturing facilities.
- Handle downstream processing, bio-product extraction, and ensure product compliance and quality for customer requirements.
- Engage with supply chain operations to streamline processes and ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Utilize expertise in synthetic biology and relevant R&D to innovate and advance biomanufacturing processes.
