Job Purpose
- The Research & Logistics Associate works collaboratively with the team to manage the national experimental chemical sample inventory, logistics and shipping. This includes shipping support for seed and other research materials.
The Research & Logistics Associate collaborates closely with the local Field Biologists and fellow Research & Logistics Associate to manage all aspects of a crop protection field research farm program including diverse crops and pests, while providing solid agronomic recommendations and work as part of a team to run a successful field research program.
The Research & Logistics Associate will :
Knowledge and Experience
Education
B.Sc. or Diploma in Agriculture / Biology with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology, or related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 1 field season of relative field experience, supporting field research / product development projects across indications.
Experience in working with growers, distribution / retail, universities, or consultants would be beneficial.
Knowledge / Skills
Strong organizational, logistical and time management skills are a must.
Ability to share knowledge and expertise with others. Actively collaborate on teams to solve problems or achieve team goals. Strong teamwork, and project management skills are also essential.
Understanding of general agronomy is desired.
Experience with farm equipment and or mechanical aptitude is desired.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with audiences of varying backgrounds. Must be skilled at development and delivery of presentations to both external and internal customers.
Excellent computer skills and proficient in various software programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ARM / SPEAD.

Nature and Scope
Research & Logistics Associate works independently from a country research farm. Frequent interaction with local Farm Managers, and local Field Biologists is essential to build and execute effective sustainable research site.
Works closely with Operations Manager and global colleagues to ensure national experimental chemical sample inventory is organized, up to date, and leads the processing and shipping of experimental chemical sample product orders.
Works closely with Farm Managers and Field Biologists to ensure trial success and trial resourcing.
Field / Research Farm environment requires physical outdoor labour, respirator use, and equipment operation.
Typical office environment.
Regular travel required to meetings and interaction with internal and external collaborators.
Physical outdoor labour, spraying, respirator use and equipment operation required.
Deals with a wide range of technical and business expertise on a regular basis. Operates in a highly competitive technical & business industry where company image is critical. Must display a balanced technical and business approach to activities that may vary from year to year.
Level of Autonomy / Decision Making Responsibility :
Manages the national experimental chemical sample inventory along with the Operations Manager. Makes decisions for logistics and shipping of product orders for the experimental chemical sample inventory.
Ongoing collaboration with local site Farm Manager, and local Field Biologist is required to ensure site objectives are known and understood.
Field agronomy decisions must align with protocol and site objectives.
Day to day activities are independent.
Working alone in the clean room or field is frequent.
Internal and external relationships (other than supervisor, what other positions does this job interact with and why) :
Research & Logistics Associate interacts with Field Biologists and Sample logistics colleagues globally for product order logistics and shipping
Research & Logistics Associate builds strong working relationships with local landlords, local equipment dealerships, local agronomy retailers, and local seed growers to enable the success of a field research program.
