YOU :
Are you passionate about STEAM education and inspiring the next generation? Do you have strong leadership and organizational management skills and love building partnerships? Are you excited about leading a dynamic team that makes science and technology come alive for youth across PEI? Can you balance strategic vision with hands-on program development?
THE OPPORTUNITY :
STEAM PEI is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring young Islanders to pursue learning and careers in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) fields. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations, from program development and staff management to financial oversight and strategic partnerships. Join us in fostering curiosity and confidence through engaging experiential learning opportunities for youth across PEI.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with education and experience (salary range of $100,000 - $108,000 per annum). This full-time position offers benefits including medical, dental, and insurance coverage. While most work occurs during regular business hours, occasional evenings and weekends may be required for special events and program activities. We believe in maintaining a healthy work / life balance while achieving our mission.
The true reward comes from leading an organization that is making a lasting impact on PEI's youth, particularly those from traditionally underrepresented groups in STEAM fields, including girls, Indigenous youth, and youth from low socio-economic backgrounds.
THE SKILLS :
- You will need significant progressive experience, with demonstrated experience in leadership roles and organizational management. Experience in STEAM education is a strong asset.
- You should possess broad knowledge across science, technology, engineering, art, math, business, and education.
- Strong decision-making abilities are crucial, as you'll be making key decisions about staffing, policies, programs, and budgets.
- Fluency in French is an asset, as is experience with marketing tools and social media platforms.
- A vulnerable sector check and a criminal record check is required.
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are essential as our programs reach communities across the Island.
- Most importantly, you should be passionate about STEAM education, comfortable with continuous learning, and committed to creating inclusive learning environments. Experience working with diverse communities, particularly BIPOC and gender-diverse students, is highly valued.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
