Helical Pile Solutions is a deep foundations contractor with over 30 years of experience in the industry, recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd. (“Java”). Java staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada’s largest electrical infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Team Lead to lead our Server and Network staff members. This position is an in-office position and can be based out of our Calgary or Nisku office locations.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Technology, the IT Infrastructure Team Lead is key to the successful operation of the Network, Server, and Microsoft 365 infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities :
Infrastructure – Overall
- Provide leadership to the Infrastructure Team including architecture, technical guidance, and professional development.
- Provide team management including recurring team meetings to gather work status and track action items, manage Infrastructure related projects and perform bi-weekly 1 on 1 meetings with each Infrastructure Team Member.
- Provide technical expertise for the setup and installation of infrastructure in line with corporate and project objectives.
- Provide hardware infrastructure solutions in line with software technical requirements.
- Provide oversight and assist with the installation and maintenance for all on-premises and cloud server hardware and network infrastructure.
- Provide support and administration for third party security applications and hardware.
- Perform regular infrastructure reviews to ensure systems are not compromised and are updated with appropriate vendor patches.
- Support the deallocation of infrastructure in line with company policy and applicable regulations.
- Track all work requests for the Infrastructure Team in ticketing system.
- Work collaboratively with other teams within all Java Group of Companies.
Infrastructure – Network
Provide secure network solutions to integrate business units to ensure transparent and secure information access.Provide oversight and assist with Firewall installation, configuration, and ongoing management.Provide oversight and assist with Network Device (Switch, Router) installation, configuration, and ongoing management.Assist with Wireless Network Management (Access Controller, Access Points, SSID Management).Ensure appropriate network services are designed, implemented, and maintained (DHCP, DNS, VLAN, IP schemes).Assist with SSL and Web Domain Management.Assist with secure remote access solutions including VPN.Ensure Data Centre cleanliness and cabling standards are met.Infrastructure – Server
Ensure sharing of company data is in line with policies and procedures within the Java Holdings Ltd. group and to external partners.Provide oversight and assist with infrastructure support for application development for the secure storage of source code, application deployment routines, backups, and user training.Assist with overall Active Directory Domain Management including Local Domains and Azure Active Directory.Assist with Office 365 Tenant Management.Assist the IT Security team with the development and implementation of Intune conditional access policies.Assist with user permission management on networked and cloud-based storage locations.Assist with email management and monitoring.Assist with SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Office 365 groups.Assist with development and implementation of server and storage device backup and retention.Assist with 3rd party authentications to facilitate single sign-on.Education and Work Experience Required :
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or similar equivalent work experience.Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience with a focus on network, server and system administration.Minimum 5+ years of management experience leading a technical infrastructure teamProficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Operating SystemsProven experience in managing Windows Server, VMWare, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams.Experience in Dell Server Hardware is required.Experience in management of storage and data backup systemsSolid Networking skills (DNS, DHCP, TCP / IP, Firewalls, Switches & Access Points).Experience with Meraki networking solutions is preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).Good understanding of Cloud computing environments with a focus on Microsoft Azure and AWS.Experience in authentication and single sign on for hybrid environments.Skills and Other Experience Desired :
IT Certification e.g., MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, etc. would be considered an asset.Experience with MDM and MAM systems and solutions.Work experience within a Veeam environment.Experience with Microsoft PowerShell is an asset.Experience with Linux Operating Systems.Familiar with relational database management systems including SQL server.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Energetic, goal oriented, detail conscious and methodical in their approach to projects.Excellent work ethic, good written / verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively over various mediums while maintaining IT department’s commitment to customer excellence.Experience managing multi-stakeholder, fast moving, complex projects.Ability to connect to company core values (Innovation, Community, Excellence, Safety).Positive attitude, team player, and change agent.Other Position Requirements :
