Director of Information Technology ServicesThe OpportunityKeyano College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Information Technology Services to join its Information Technology Services Team (ITS). The Director is responsible for ensuring high quality services to Keyano College clients through effective support, management, planning, maintenance, and sustainability of administrative and information systems, technology and infrastructure. Assuring the security and integrity of technology is a primary responsibility.The Director reports to the Vice President Corporate Services & CFO and provides strategic advice to senior executives and the Board of Governors related to information technology and is a key partner in helping the College achieve its mandate to provide post-secondary education and related services to the region.The scope of responsibility includes Information Strategy & Governance, Architecture, Compliance, IT infrastructure, development of and ongoing support for administrative and student systems, IT security and cybersecurity, customer support, instructional technologies and project support.Note : this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelops a vision for the College in collaboration with the college executive team, and defines and implements strategic initiatives to achieve the vision.Develops a college wide IT Tactical Plan, and sets annual and longer-term goals, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the college.Holds departmental staff accountable for achieving results.Oversees the hiring, orientation, and development of employees.Leads the department’s operating and capital planning activities and budgets.Sets standards for a high level of customer service, regularly measures customer satisfaction, and makes any adjustments required to ensure customers are receiving high quality responsive service.Oversees a robust cybersecurity framework, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional data and systems. Identifies and prioritizes cybersecurity initiatives, projects, and investments to address evolving threats and vulnerabilities.Monitors compliance with internal policies and external regulations, ensuring adherence to relevant cybersecurity frameworks.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, or a relevant professional designation is required. A masters degree in business or a related field would be an asset.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT systems, networks, or information management in a complex organization, preferably in post-secondary education or industry.Proven ability to effectively manage and lead an ITS team, ensuring a safe, sustainable and results oriented work environment.Experienced in budget and capital planning activities, including public sector procurement.A combination of education, experience, and training acceptable to the college may be considered.Please note that if your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization.Compensation and Benefits- We offer an attractive competitive compensation based on your experience.- Employer paid comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a health spending account.- Defined Benefit pension plan (LAPP) - one of the best in Canada- This position qualifies for additional payment of the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month (This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval).- Professional training and development funding is provided annually.- Generous vacation entitlement and the bonus of paid holidays between Christmas and New Years.- Paid sick days.We offer various perks and discounts to our employees : - Relocation assistance for those who meet certain criteria.- Greatly discounted employee membership to the Syncrude Sports and Wellness Centre (our gym and recreational facility).- Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.- Employee Discounts for the Keyano Theatre and the Keynotes Bookstore.EDIBAt Keyano College, we prioritize Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, and Belonging (EDIB) in all aspects of our operations.
