Job Role: Python Developer
Duration: 6-12 months
Work Location: Montreal, Quebec "Hybrid" (3 days WFO)

Primary Skill Set: Python Development & Automation

Introduction

We are seeking a skilled developer to join our team for a 6-12 month contract. This role involves working on the automation and modernization of operations using Python, particularly in a financial services environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python Development & Automation
  • Experience with database transactions, particularly using DB2
  • Ability to modernize legacy code from Perl or shell scripting to Python
  • Familiarity with IBM MQ Queues and command line tools like ARS

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Autosys jobs or Zapp agents
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology
  • Experience with LLMs (Large Language Models)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Automate CMOD operations using Python scripting
  • Upgrade existing Python scripts to the latest versions
  • Design and document data flows using tools like DrawIO and Confluence
  • Release implemented features following proper SDLC cycles
