A path for every ambition.

At HUB, we believe the best work happens when people are given real space to grow and then given the autonomy to exercise it. We power progress and protect ambition: for the clients who count on us, and equally for the people who make that possible every day.

We’re creative thinkers and determined doers, guided by values that show up in how we work together: with empathy, adaptability, accountability and a genuine commitment to one another’s success. We foster bold ideas, celebrate curiosity and share what we know. Because when people grow, the work they do grows with them.

Our purpose is deeply human: to help people navigate the world on their terms, at their speed, toward their future. We hold that same commitment to the people building careers here.

Whether you’re starting out or leveling up, you’ll find the resources to evolve, the support to take on more and a team ready to back you at every stage.

Your ambition has a home here.

Hi, we’re HUB. We are proud to be ranked amongst the world’s largest insurance brokerages, advising businesses and individuals on how to prepare for the unexpected. About the Position

The Senior Accountant works within the Accounting & Compliance (A&C) team at the HUB Financial Center (HFC). Reporting to the A&C Supervisor, this role oversees the work of Junior and Staff Accountants, manages the monthly close process, and reviews and approves account reconciliations. The role also includes providing analytical support to the team and leading specialized accounting processes and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peer Senior Accountants to lead day-to-day team operations, and coordinate with the Supervisor on team member support, workload distribution, and escalation of performance concerns.
  • Train, mentor, and coach Junior and Staff Accountants, providing real-time feedback to support development.
  • Engage business leaders and cross-functional departments to drive process efficiency and resolve issues; facilitate meetings and present to the team and leadership.
  • Execute the month-end close process across Broker Management and GL systems.
  • Prepare or approve variance analysis on balance sheet accounts.
  • Produce reporting and analytics for the team and leadership, including KPI reporting, key process tracking, team analytics, data validations, and ad hoc reconciliations and research.
  • Review and approve bank and balance sheet reconciliations and perform quality reviews of team work, ensuring compliance with HUB’s reconciliation policy, SOX requirements, and US GAAP, with leadership guidance as needed.
  • Manage aged outages and action plans; ensure supporting source adjustments are identified, cleared, and reconciled prior to deadlines.
  • Oversee monthly accrual, true-up, settlement, and bad debt calculations and journal entries.
  • Drive ongoing projects and initiatives, leading and assisting in planning and executing team projects and translating outcomes into process improvements.
  • Lead one or more specialized accounting processes and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Lead and support system conversion projects from acquisition systems into the Enterprise platform, tracking deliverables, communicating timelines, and following up on open items.
  • Support SOX Control Owners by performing assigned control activities, retaining evidence, and providing documentation for requests.
  • Support the annual external audit cycle by preparing requested schedules and documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and tracking open items through completion.
  • Document and report significant or material errors that could affect financial statement accuracy, following the team’s error-documentation process.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities, including escheatment and regulatory reporting.
  • Follow HUB accounting policies and procedures and escalate exceptions.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in the accounting field.
  • 1+ year of team or project lead experience.
  • Ability to motivate, influence, and lead others.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing account reconciliations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Flexibility of work hours, including the ability to put in extra hours during peak times.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience in insurance, financial services, or brokerage.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: insurance accounting, audit coordination, cross-border teams, fixed and intangible assets, M&A accounting/finance.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP and reconciliation tools (e.g., Oracle Fusion, BlackLine) and broker management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, BenefitPoint).

Education Requirements
