We are looking for an driven Junior Accountant to join a team in the Construction sector located in downtown Toronto.

Position : Junior Accountant

Location : Downtown Toronto

Industry : Construction

Responsibilities

In this Junior Accountant role in Downtown Toronto, you will be responsible for the following :

Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

Prepare and process payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

Generate and send invoices to clients based on project milestones.

Monitor customer accounts for outstanding balances and follow up on collections.

Apply payments and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate records.

Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Record journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, and expense allocations.

Assist in maintaining the general ledger and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded.

Assist with financial statement preparation by reconciling accounts and verifying data.

Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for management review.

Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate month-end close.

Qualifications

We are looking for the following for this Junior Accountant role located in Downtown Toronto :

Minimum 2 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function

A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting.

Experience working with QuickBooks or similar systems is required.

Experience working in a similar industry is an asset.
