Junior Accountant

Position Overview :

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller and supports a wide range of accounting activities, including journal entries, invoice coding, reconciliations, working papers, and internal / external reporting. The position helps ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and submitted on time, while supporting recurring tasks, month-end responsibilities, and process improvements across different parts of the business.

This role offers exposure to core accounting processes within a manufacturing environment and the opportunity to grow over time based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Post journal entries in a timely manner including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and adjustments to support month-end and year-end processes.

Prepare month end working papers, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for various general ledger accounts.

Summarize and record daily bank & Visa transactions, ensuring all entries have supporting documentation.

Assist with the preparation of operational financial reports and provide support across a range of day business processes

Process and code vendor invoices for Accounts Payable in accordance with company policies and approval workflows.

Complete monthly third-party compliance filings accurately and on schedule.

Participate in special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.

Qualifications :

1–3 years of related accounting experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, well-organized work.

Comfortable working with financial data, reconciliations, and supporting documentation, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical approach to resolving issues.

Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting systems is considered an asset.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take ownership of tasks, respond constrictively to feedback, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to continuous improvement.
