Description de poste

We are seeking a highly analytical Technical Analyst for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a key technical assessment, platform evaluation, and digital modernization capacity, specializing in assessing legacy application portfolios and establishing cloud modernization roadmaps.

As a Technical Analyst, you will bridge the gap between legacy database-driven applications, business process leads, and modern low-code/no-code platforms. Operating within a hybrid work model in Toronto, you will evaluate existing application portfolios, analyze technical architectures and database dependencies, perform fit-gap and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, and design transition roadmaps toward modern enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform. This position demands a technical authority with deep expertise across Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse who can facilitate stakeholder discovery sessions, formulate strategic business cases, and guide platform governance strategies.

Location: Scarborough / Toronto, ON

Assignment Type: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)

Contract Duration: 3-month contract (with potential for 3-month extension)

Advantages
Strategic Modernization Impact: Lead high-visibility application assessment initiatives and establish cloud migration roadmaps.

Core Power Platform Scope: Drive technical evaluations spanning Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and custom connectors.

TCO & Business Case Leadership: Author executive-level business cases, fit-gap analyses, and total cost of ownership models.

Balanced Hybrid Model: Enjoy a predictable working structure combining collaborative onsite engagement with remote work days.

Responsibilities
Assess current application environments, technical architectures, database dependencies, integration points, user groups, and operational support models.

Document application portfolios, detailing business purpose, technical complexity, security requirements, data models, and support criteria.

Conduct fit-gap analyses to determine future-state platform options, including platform migrations, enterprise tool adoptions, consolidations, or retirements.

Perform total cost of ownership (TCO) and cost-benefit analyses covering licensing, infrastructure, hosting, Dataverse usage, and operational maintenance.

Evaluate business processes, risks, constraints, dependencies, scalability, and lifecycle management to identify modernization and automation opportunities.

Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, project meetings, and executive presentations with technical leads, business stakeholders, and management teams.

Develop strategic transition roadmaps, implementation sequences, environment strategies, security frameworks, and platform governance standards.

Prepare executive briefings, business case documents, cost-benefit materials, application scoring matrices, and technical recommendation reports.

Deliver knowledge transfer, technical documentation, and transition guidance to internal technical and support staff.

Qualifications
Core Technical & Platform Assessment Requirements
Power Platform Expertise: Extensive experience with the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, connectors, environment management, licensing, security, and governance.

Application Assessment & TCO Modeling: Extensive experience assessing legacy application portfolios and constructing business cases, options analyses, total cost of ownership (TCO) models, and cost-benefit evaluations.

Business Analysis & Fit-Gap: Strong business analysis capabilities, including stakeholder engagement, requirements elicitation, process mapping, fit-gap analysis, and risk assessment.

Education: Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Skills & Delivery Attributes
Architecture & Governance: Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, cloud security models, data management standards, and application lifecycle management (ALM).

Communication & Facilitation: Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills with proven ability to facilitate workshops and present strategic options to executive audiences.

Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Exceptional diagnostic and analytical skills to systematically evaluate complex technical environments and articulate strategic recommendations.
