Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards, data pipelines, and automations using Power Platforms.
• Attend to the complex design and development of business intelligence tools based on specifications.
• Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance on dashboarding and business intelligence requirements.
• Work closely with project teams to understand solutions, define estimates, and recommend solution approaches.
• Present insights and recommendations to leadership teams to support decision-making.
• Conduct code reviews, script analysis, optimization, and testing of reporting automations and business intelligence solutions.
• Manage BI platforms, including system updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Stay updated on business intelligence trends and incorporate design and development best practices.
• Enforce data quality and consistency by implementing business standards and audit checks.
• Research and develop process and technical improvements for existing solutions and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with COEs and cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and stakeholders, to understand reporting requirements.
• Monitor tasks of the solutioning team and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, logs, and external datasets.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, automations, and reporting solutions, including Power Platforms.
• Convert raw data into formats suitable for analysis through data cleansing, normalization, transformation, and modeling.
• Develop apps and automated workflows as part of reporting solutions.
• Develop reports and dashboards to present data in a visually understandable manner and provide actionable insights.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business success.
• Conduct team performance reviews and knowledge check-ins.
• Create project estimates and business solutioning proposals.
• Review existing processes and documentation consistently.
• Create and execute business process improvements.

What you will need to succeed:

• SQL proficiency, including complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, performance tuning, and familiarity with stored procedures/views.
• Experience connecting to SQL Server, Azure SQL/Databricks, JIRA (via REST APIs, OData, or connectors like Atlassian/JIRA content packs), Excel/CSV, SharePoint, SAP, etc.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT fundamentals, including designing reliable pipelines, incremental refresh, handling late-arriving data, and data quality checks.
• Experience with Power Query (M), including transformations, custom functions, parameterized queries, merging/appending tables, and error handling.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, including Star/Snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables, surrogate keys, SCD handling, and conformed dimensions.
• Experience with Power BI data modeling, including relationships, cardinality, bidirectional filters, role-playing dimensions, and calculation groups.
• DAX expertise, including measures vs calculated columns, time intelligence (YTD/MTD/QTD, rolling periods), filter context vs row context, CALCULATE/KEEPFILTERS, virtual tables (SUMMARIZE/ADDCOLUMNS), iterators (X functions), segmentation, and KPI logic.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques, including VertiPaq storage concepts, minimizing model size, using variables, optimizing DAX, avoiding high-cardinality columns, and using aggregations.
• Financial and JIRA domain knowledge considered an asset.
• Understanding of KPIs and metrics, including revenue, expense, margin, run-rate, cash flow, ROI, NPV, cohort analysis, and trend analysis.
• Experience working with JIRA data, including issue fields, workflows, sprints/boards, epics/stories, custom fields, velocity, burn-down/up, lead/cycle time, and throughput metrics.
• Visualization and UX skills within Power BI environments.
