Description de poste

Job description:

Our client is seeking a Robotics & Automation Specialist to join their Design Team. This role turns client requirements into fully engineered automated machinery and robotic systems, covering the full lifecycle: concept, equipment selection, electrical design, PLC/HMI/robot programming, and commissioning support. Work spans virtually every industrial sector in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop automation concepts, including equipment selection and control architecture (site visits as required)
  • Produce electrical designs, schematics, and panel layouts for custom machinery and robotic systems
  • Develop PLC, HMI, and robot programs to project standards
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers, electricians, and shop personnel through build, integration, and testing
  • Provide field service: troubleshooting and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, robots, VFDs, and vision systems
  • Participate in quoting, design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning
  • Troubleshoot industrial networks

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Automation, Controls, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field
  • 5+ years in industrial electrical design, controls, and programming
  • Hands-on robotic experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CAD experience producing professional electrical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; self-starter
  • Designing automated machinery or robotic systems from concept through commissioning
  • PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron) and HMI development
  • Robot programming (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, UR), on-machine and virtual environment
  • Industrial vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
  • Industrial network troubleshooting (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet)

Why is This a Great Opportunity:

  • Tackle diverse, challenging projects across virtually every industrial sector in Ontario
  • Full lifecycle ownership: concept through commissioning, not just one slice
  • Hands-on variety across multiple PLC, HMI, and robot platforms
  • Collaborative environment working directly with designers, trades, and engineers
  • Strong benefits package plus shop access for personal projects

If your experience aligns strongly with what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply. This team is growing, so we also welcome interest from both more junior and more senior professionals. That said, our immediate outreach will be focused on those whose experience most closely matches the current needs of the role.
